Merry Christmas!

We are so blessed to be able to yet again celebrate the birth of our Savior! What an incredible gift God gave us when He allowed Jesus to come rescue us. There is nothing so wonderful as knowing the love of Christ! We pray you are blessed by his presence this Christmas season.
We love you!

Christmas craft time!

We had a great time "making gingerbread cookies" this week as we assembled gingerbread men kits that I'd found for $1 at Target. It was money well spent because the kids loved this craft! I was especially impressed with Leo. He usually loses interest halfway through craft projects (with the exception of painting which he adores) but this time he just sat there working until his gingerbread men were completely finished. And then he was one proud little guy! :) Somehow I didn't get a photo of Bella's finished masterpiece... probably because she was busy helping the others! That girl is my right hand when it comes to helping Elsie and Silas.

Math time

The linking cubes are one of the most enjoyed math materials at the Kreke house. And of course, when I get them out for Isabella and Leo, the little two want to join in right away. :)

We had a fun time on Sunday at our first family Christmas party of the season. It's hard to believe an entire year has passed since the last time we celebrated, but we love Christmas in this house so we're excited that it's arrived again!

Hermie The Second

This past week we have been babysitting the hermit crab of homeschooling friends, and we've had a grand time. Elsie, especially, loves Hermie dearly. She gets very excited whenever he pokes his head out and begins to crawl. And I have to admit that a few times after everyone was in bed I have found myself watching this little guy crawl around, digging in his sand and doing whatever it is hermit crabs do to pass the time. He's a pretty cool fellow ;)

We did it!

...So I know it was actually Amy who got married...but by the time it was all said and done I felt as if I had gotten married myself. (And I don't remember my own wedding being quite this much I just having a memory lapse?)

Now that the wedding is over (and turned out wonderfully, by the way), normal life has resumed at the Kreke house. And lots has happened while I've been busy with wedding things, so I'll try to catch you up. God is good to us! We are a blessed little family.

(We won't see the professional wedding pictures for awhile, but Aunt Angela took some that I "borrowed" to share with you :)

Getting closer to the "Big Day"

We had a lovely bridal shower luncheon for Auntie Amy this weekend...I'll share pictures when I get ahold of some. Elsie slept through the last half of the celebration on a cushion in the corner of the room. Pretty much sums up how we all feel this week! :) Can't stop now though! Only 2 1/2 weeks till the wedding and lots to do!

Wisconsin in the autumn

We've just finished a little family vacation to Wisconsin Dells and had a great time. We visited Devil's Lake State Park and walked along the shoreline of the lake that the original Ringling Brothers' elephants once bathed in, hiked and climbed the rocks among the trees. We had a blast playing in the indoor waterpark, and all the kids went down the waterslides...even the brave Miss Elsie.
Our "home" had a kitchen so we ate all our meals there, except to have lunch at Buffalo Phil's, where our meals were delivered to us on a train! They had a six page long Gluten-free Menu so there was lots to pick from and that made mom happy too :)
Our last Wisconsin outing ended with a walk on the Riverwalk in the beautiful weather that we were blessed with the entire time.
There was also time just for laying around reading books, watching kids DVDs and working on our school work.
On the way back home we went trough Chicago so we could make a stop at Ikea. A good ending to a great trip!
