Girls Day...Boys Day

On two separate weekends this month the girls and boys have take turns staying at grandma and grandpa's house. Whoever was left at home got to have a "fun day" with mom. It was a wonderful experience both times! Isabella chose the Botanical Gardens for her day, so of course when boys day came along, Leo said that was where they wanted to go too. :)

Silas and the limelight ;)

Last weekend Silas and Elsie were the ring bearer and flower girl in our cousin's wedding. Much to a certain mommy's relief they did great...walked down the aisle smiling and holding hands. Whew!

It's about Jesus

I just love this time of year...when we collectively turn our attention towards the amazing sacrifice that Jesus made for us by dying on the cross!

We spent today coloring Easter eggs and doing other fun activities in anticipation of tomorrow. We were so excited with our egg coloring results since we tried using homemade, natural dye (beets, blueberries, onion skins and turmeric). It was great fun! Every time an egg went in white and came out colored Elsie laughed and clapped. So cute.

In the morning we work as a family serving in the toddler room at church, then we will attend service ourselves. This year we decided to "stay home" for Easter, the first time we have ever celebrated a holiday at our house only. Monumental occasion over here! ;)

Tonight after the kids were in bed I finished getting their baskets ready and put together out the eggs for our egg hunt. As I curled up the pieces of paper to put inside each egg that we will make into a paper chain tomorrow as a family, I was able to reflect again on the incredible gift we have been offered through the cross. God has made it so easy on us. Instead of having to suffer for our own sins, we only have to believe in the one who paid the price for us. What a wonderful reason to celebrate! Happy Easter!

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)
