After a break we got back to the routine of learning. I am so thankful to be able to do "year round schooling" so that our day to day work can be light, and we can take a day off school work when we need to.
Jason surprised us with a message on our chalkboard:
The beautiful weather brought us outside to do our reading one afternoon.
Silas loves the "build a word" game in the reading program he's working on lately.
Leo found TWO four leaf clovers in less than half an hour.
Jason helped the three big kids make derby cars for the local pinewood derby race. They had a lot of fun.
"Real life homeschooling" brought us to our local polling place to vote in the presidential primaries.
Samuel was so proud to complete these matching activities. He's such a smart toddler!
Elsie had an overnight transformation in her art work. She began drawing the text and illustrations from a book she looked at. I was amazed! She loves doing this work so much and is putting in about an hour a day working in her notebook.
Drawing on the couch
Isabella took photos to make her own version of a children's book we got from the library. It turned out so beautiful.
Samuel practicing cutting paper:
I printed out a bunch of animal report pages for Isabella to fill in as she pleased. She was so excited! For all the kids, giving them projects that they're interested in turns schooltime into something we enjoy :)
Leo leading some exercise for the wiggly preschoolers.
And when you need a break, you can have fun with the Easter craft Aunt Debbie sent us. :)
